WESLACO AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEMBERSHIP SERVICES & BENEFITS
Following is a list of services and benefits available to all Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce members. An approximate value for each service is included.

ADVERTISING & PUBLICITY - Approximate Value : $275
All members receive a free listing and/or publicity in our Membership Directory and in our membership roster in our website @ www.weslaco.com. You also receive Discounts on advertising in our Weslaco Magazine, City map (Chamber page in the Mid Valley Town Crier and our monthly newsletter), and various news releases.

AFFILIATE ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIP - Approximate Value : $500
The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce holds memberships in the following organizations: Rio Grande Valley Partnership, US Chamber of Commerce, Texas Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, Hidalgo County Tourism Cooperative, Valley Tourism Cooperative, Texas Travel Industry Association, and the Texas Festivals Association. Information and applicable benefits as a result of the Chamber's membership in these organizations is made available to the Weslaco Chamber Membership accordingly. The chamber participates in other local, state and national associations as the executive director deems appropriate.

SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS - Approximate Value : $600
Throughout the Weslaco Chamber's year, staff members coordinate various seminars and workshops open to the membership. These seminars provide members insight into areas such as advertising, business management, communication skills, customer service, financial management, human resources, marketing and promotional work.

BUSINESS AND POLITICAL CONTACTS - Approximate Value : Unlimited
The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce provides its membership various opportunities to network with fellow members and establish business and political contacts. Chamber members are also kept abreast of state legislative issues that affect local business. Members ultimately become a part of a "customer referral service" for future business activities.

BUSINESS REFERRAL SERVICE- Approximate Value : $150
Current Chamber members are referred to the public when requests/inquiries are made for the names of local business, professionals, service-oriented organizations/businesses, and various product oriented establishments.

PROMOTIONAL DISPLAY AREA - Approximate Value : Unlimited
Members of the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce are welcomed to display promotional material such as brochures, business cards, announcements, etc., in the lobby of the Chamber office. Tourists, visitors, and business representatives visit the office daily and often request information about local businesses and Chamber members

GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY- Approximate Value : Unlimited
Weslaco Chamber members who build a new facility are encouraged to hold a groundbreaking ceremony (at no cost to the member) prior to construction. Additionally, new businesses constructing a facility in the Weslaco area are encouraged to host a groundbreaking ceremony as well upon joining the Chamber. Among the guest list are the Chamber's Red Coat Ambassadors, City of Weslaco officials and media. Members who wish to host a ceremony must contact Chamber staff to schedule a date.

RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY - Approximate Value : Unlimited
Upon joining the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce, new businesses in the Weslaco area are encouraged to host a ribbon cutting ceremony at no cost to the business. Existing Weslaco members who relocate, renovate and or expand are also invited to hold a ribbon cutting celebration. Among the guest list are the Chamber's Red Coat Ambassadors, City of Weslaco officials and media. Members who wish to host a ceremony must contact the Chamber staff to schedule a date.

MIXERS - Approximate Value : Unlimited
Members of the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce are invited to host a mixer as an opportunity to promote their business among representatives of other Chamber members. Also, a mixer, traditionally held after 5 p.m., provides members with a networking opportunity in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Members who would like to host a mixer should call the Chamber office. Traditionally, the Chamber provides the "border buttermilk" while the hosting member serves refreshments. The guest list includes all Chamber members who are encouraged to invite their employees.

PUBLICATIONS - Approximate Value : Unlimited
Many hours of research and production go into the design and publishing of various Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce literatures. This type of publicity includes advertisements for the print media, brochures, church information, direct mail, educational literature, fliers, lists of civic clubs and service oriented organizations, maps, membership lists, radio and television advertisements, and statistical information. Publications produced by the Chamber are used for marketing purposes. The Weslaco Chamber invites members to participate in these types of opportunities to ensure that a general presentation is provided to tourists and individuals visiting the Weslaco area.

WEB PAGE - Approximate Value : $2,000
The Weslaco Chamber's web page at www.weslaco.com is an interactive site that is promoted throughout the Valley, state and nation. The site provides a member with a presence on the worldwide web as members are listed alphabetically and categorically. Member events such as ribbon cuttings; grand openings can be placed on the calendar of events as well as in the "news" section.

SPECIAL EVENTS - Approximate Value : Unlimited
The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce invites all members to participate in the Chamber's special events such as the Annual Banquet & Awards Night, Mid Valley Christmas Lighted Parade, Miss Onion Fest Pageant, Miss Weslaco, and the Texas Rio Grande Valley Onion Festival. Members are also encouraged to join the Chamber staff at various trade shows/expositions and help staff members promote Weslaco.

"Preferred Member" Card - Approximate Value : Unlimited
The "Preferred Member" Card is a Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce members only program. The card can be viewed as a perk for being a member of the chamber of commerce or as an advertising tool for your business. Refer to the attached application if you are interested in applying for this service.

Membership Labels - Approximate Value : $50.00
A free set of labels of our entire membership will be available for new members at their request.

Business News Clips - Approximate Value : Unlimited
Gives the member the opportunity to announce any special announcements such as new store hours, promotions, new management etc., in our monthly newsletter.

Flyer Insert thru Chamber Newsletter
Members have the opportunity to insert their flyers in our newsletter at a cost of $75. Member must provide the chamber with 700 or more copies of their announcement/flyer to be mailed and inserted by chamber staff in our newsletter.
