Class forming for "How to Handle Difficult People" Seminar set for Friday, Nov. 14

Never again fall victim to those who love to make life miserable for the rest of us.

Partners for Empowerment has partnered up with the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce to offera seminar entitled "How to HandleDifficult People", on Friday, November 14th, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Weslaco Business Visitors Center.

This training gives you concrete techniques for dealing with difficult people in the workplace and at home. It provides specific strategies for getting adversaries to cooperate … bullies to back off … wallflowers to open up … chronic complainers to quiet down.

At one time or another, everyone has to deal with irate, rude, impatient, persistent, or aggressive people. They include complainers, unreasonable and irresponsible people, hostile, passive aggressive people who give either too little or too much information, sarcastic people, those who use the silent treatment, upset people who use foul language, and others with whom we experience difficult interaction.

This one-day workshop presents useful techniques that help all employees "keep their cool" in a wide variety of difficult situations. It outlines the successful elements of dealing with difficult situations and difficult people of all types—whether they are customers or colleagues.

Participants in the How to Handle Difficult People seminar will learn to:

  • Strengthen relationships through the use of effective communications skills.
  • Become better listeners and communicators, and teach others these skills as well.
  • How to resolve conflict and deadlocks with difficult people through assertiveness and active listening.
  • Apply new communications skills in all client and workplace relationships
  • Behave with more confidence in interpersonal interactions.
  • Identify areas of commonality as a way of improving communication.
  • See the big picture by listening to all points of view.
  • Deal effectively with passive aggressive individuals.

The cost of the workshop is $95.00 for Chamber Members and $130.00 for Non-Chamber Members. To register for this seminar, please call the Weslaco Chamber at (956) 968-2102. Deadline to register is Wednesday,November 12.
