Weslaco Chamber Exhibiting Work from Three Local Artists through December 1

The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce & Business Visitor Center is hosting the work of three local artists: Pablo Peña of Weslaco, Agustin Escañuela of Donna, and Raquel Hinojosa of McAllen. The exhibit is free of charge and will be on display through December 1.

Pablo Peña began painting in the early 1990s and has since developed a passion for using acrylics to express his emotions. Peña uses dramatic colors to depict Surrealism and Fantasy influence, and has dedicated himself to painting every day.

Agustin Escañuela creates unique, one of a kind furniture pieces from recycled and “found” objects. His pieces are inspired by time he spent in the Yellowstone and Cody Wyoming area and have a ranch-country to Western style. Many of his pieces are displayed at Mimi’s Attic in Weslaco.

Raquel Hinojosa is displaying 13 pieces from her collection “Arches from a Past Time”. The collection, mostly drawings, was inspired from the arches of Guerrero Viejo in Mexico. She has completed 40 works in all using different media.

The Weslaco Business Visitor Center is located at 301 W. Railroad St. Visitors are welcome Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. For more information, call (956) 968-2102.
