A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the grand re-opening of The Wound Center at Knapp Medical Center on Tuesday, December 2. The Wound Center at Knapp, established in 1996, is a comprehensive outpatient center designed to treat non-healing or difficult wounds. The facility was recently upgraded with new equipment and is now operating under a new management company. The Wound Center at Knapp has a team of qualified professionals with advanced training in comprehensive wound management and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Patients at The Wound Center at Knapp are provided with a thorough diagnostic examination and then given a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan that is also relayed to the referring physician. A patient’s treatment is continuously evaluated allowing for the treatment plan to be readjusted, if necessary.
Services include: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, which involves patients breathing pure oxygen while in a sealed chamber, to assist with the healing of difficult wounds; Negative Pressure Therapy; Biologic Dressing; Compression Dressings; sharp Debridement, Enzymatic Debridement and Comprehensive Wound Care.
