The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce will host Weslaco ISD Superintendent Dr. Richard Rivera on Wednesday, May 13, from 12:00 – 1:15 pm, during the Chamber’s Quarterly Lunch & Learn, a special event for the Weslaco business community to attend and receive insightful information for their business.
Public education plays an important role in the economic and social well being of our community. Businesses will have the opportunity to learn the latest developments in the Weslaco Independent School District, including current construction projects and TAKS Scores.
Dr. Rivera has served as Superintendent of Schools since 1996, and has worked diligently to achieve long-term success in the district. Under his leadership, WISD has consecutively earned the “Recognized School District” distinction from the Texas Education Agency.
To date, WISD has grown to include two high schools, four middle schools, ten elementary schools, two alternative campuses, one alternative high school and a state of the art career and technology education complex.
