The Texas Festivals and Events Association (TFEA) presented the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce Texas Onion Fest several Marketing Awards at its annual conference in Ft. Worth last week.
Martha Noell, CEO/President of the Chamber was in Ft. Worth along with Sheila Sidler, Administrative Assistant, at the TFEA’s National Conference July 10, 2009 to accept eight awards for the Onion Fest’s marketing and advertising for 2009. TFEA awards the marketing efforts of events and festivals across the state. The Onion Fest was entered in the category of events with budgets from $75,000 to $250,000. “We pretty much swept the category for events within the same class and size as Onion Fest! We were thrilled to accept the awards on behalf of all the folks who work so hard to make the event happen,” Noell commented.

Noell is the President of the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce, which hosts the Texas Onion Fest. She serves as Secretary of the board of TFEA and currently serves as the Board Chair of the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives.
