Week 8 2010 Natural History Speaker Series

The Valley Nature Center along with the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce presents the 8th Week of the 2010 Natural History Series at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Valley Nature Center located on 301 S. Border in Weslaco. This week’s presentation will be “Nature Photography” presented by Ruth Hoyt, world renowned Nature Photographer.

     Ruth Hoyt is a naturalist and full-time photographer. Ruth lives in the South Texas ranch country where she photographs, leads workshops and tours, and teaches nature photography.  Ruth has taught photography since 1990 and her work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute, Missouri Botanical Garden, Powder Valley Nature Center, Shaw Nature Reserve and St. Louis Artists' Guild. Ruth has work on permanent display in Alton, Illinois, and in McAllen, Texas.

     Ruth will also be offering a Nature Photography Class on Sunday, February 28^th from 7:00 am to 11:00 am at the Valley Nature Center.  The cost of the workshop is $75.00 per person, and is a fabulous opportunity to learn nature photography with award winning photographer Ruth Hoyt!
 
      Admission for February 27^th will be $3.00, payable at the door and VNC members are free. The Series is sponsored by Thurmond Eye & Associates.
