2010 Onion Fest Queens

Twenty-one contestants competed for one of three titles in the Miss Onion Fest Pageant on Friday, March 5, in conjunction with the 21^st Annual Texas Onion Fest to be held March 27 at Weslaco City Park.

The young ladies from ages 10 to 15 years old went before an audience in the Sepulveda Gym to show off their poise and beauty for the event produced by J. Nava Studios.  Regina McKinny, Miss Texas Belleza Latina was the guest host and emcee for the event.  The following courts were installed in the three categories: 

Springsweet Court: Miss Springsweet 2010 Winner: Kayla Lacross daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ibrain Viveros; 1st alternate: Kaylie Pena, daughter of Paul Pena, Jr. and Sonia Medrano; 2nd alternate: Jennifer Guillen, daughter of Michelle Zepeda and Mario Guillen; 3rd alternate: Daniella Hernandez, daughter of Rosie Hernandez.

Onion Blossom Court: Miss Onion Blossom 2010 Winner: Kelsey Lopez, daughter of George and Michelle Lopez; 1st alternate: Brianna Zavala, daughter of Ruben and Debbie Zavala; 2nd alternate: Brianna De Leon, daughter of Hugo and Mary De Leon.

Onion Fest Court: Miss Texas Onion Fest 2010 Winner: Brittanie Garza, daughter of Conrado and Rosie Garza; 1st alternate: Victoria Salinas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Salinas.

Congratulations to all the girls for their hard work and dedication to the pageant.  All the girls will be at the Texas Onion Fest on March 27^th.

The upcoming festival will feature musical performances, dancing horse shows, family area, kiddie rides, food, arts and crafts, a Gaming Theater and onion eating contests! Gate admission $5/adults; $4/seniors; and $2/children. Free parking available.
