A group of interested Chamber Members attended a “Wage & Hour” Workshop hosted by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce on March 11. U.S. Department of Labor Wage & Hour representative Liz Martinez discussed the applicability of federal labor laws, record keeping requirements, Minimum Wage and Overtime requirements, hours worked, Regulation 541, and child labor regulations. Although small in numbers, the individuals who attended the training will take what they have learned and make an impact in their organization.
