Texas State Bank receives "Beautification" Award

Weslaco Beautiful presented Texas State Bank, located at 500 S. Missouri, with the Commercial Beautification Award for maintaining an environmental friendly yard. The bank was honored to receive the award as there are numerous deserving businesses in Weslaco.

Earth Irrigation & Landscaping of McAllen designed and installed the landscaping initially some 18 years ago and then added additional plants in the beds around the building a couple of years ago.

The green areas surrounding the bank include a variety of trees, shrubs, and small plants: Live Oak trees and four types of palm trees, Washingtonian, Sabal, Sago, and Med Fan; Dwarf Yaupon Holly and Ixora shrubs; and a combination of Asiatic Jasmine, Dwarf Katie, and Giant Liriope that provide ground cover.

Day Lillies are disbursed throughout the landscape and even a papaya tree voluntarily grew in the center of the vegetation. Surprisingly, this beautiful landscape is low maintenance and requires little water.

Texas State Bank officials take pride in their work and the service they provide to their customers and the community.
