Pulmonary & Sleep Center of the Valley receives "Beautification" Award

Weslaco Beautiful honored the Pulmonary & Sleep Center of the Valley with the Weslaco Commercial Beautification Award for the month of August. The center, located at 1604 E. 8th St., hosts four doctors who share a love for plants. When the facility was constructed three years ago, the flourishing trees and plants seen today were installed by a local landscaping company to make the center more inviting for patients. Dr. Ricardo Abreu, Dr. Augustin De La Pena, Dr. Adolfo Kaplan, and Dr. Juan Ortiz were recognized for maintaining a lush landscape including oak trees, sabal and sago palms, purple lantana, asiastic jasmine, and a banana tree. Time and again, patients ask for small pieces of plants to transplant at home.
