A Used Book Sale and Art Fair will be held in the Courtyard Garden of the Weslaco Public Library on Feb. 19 and Feb. 20. Hours for the event are Thursday – 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday – 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Hundreds of titles will be available at bargain prices. All book sale proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library and their theater projects.
Artists will display their handcrafted items in the Courtyard, as well as in the meeting room of the adjacent Braught Memorial Theater. An array of crafts and fine art produced by talented local artists will be on sale, including carvings, oil and acrylic paintings, retablos, painted birdhouses, and glass and textile art. Exotic orchids from Hawaii will also be available for purchase.
Lunchtime piano concerts will be held each day with an additional performance at 2 p.m. Local musician, Allie Haden, will be playing popular standards and requests from the audience. Attendance is free, and the audience is invited to bring a sack lunch to enjoy at fountain seating in the Courtyard.
