2009 Miss Texas Onion Fest and Miss Weslaco Pageant, March 6 & 7

The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce and Platinum Productions will present the 2009 Miss Texas Onion Fest Pageant on Friday, March 6, at 7:00 pm, and the 2009 Miss Weslaco Pageant on Saturday, March 7, at 7:00 pm. Both pageants will be held at the Weslaco High School Gym, located at 1005 W. Pike.

The Miss Texas Onion Fest Pageant is held in conjunction with the 20^th Annual Texas Onion Fest, April 3 & 4, at Weslaco City Park. Young ladies residing in the Mid Valley area will compete for one of three titles which include Springsweet Miss (ages 10-11), Miss Onion Blossom (ages 12-13), and Miss Onion Fest (ages 14-15).

In the Miss Weslaco Pageant, twelve young ladies will compete in hopes of representing Weslaco in 2009. All the contestants are juniors in high school and reside in Weslaco.

The public is welcome to attend both pageants and support the contestants. Tickets are $7 at the door, and $5 advance tickets are on sale at the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce, located at the intersection of Texas Blvd. and Business 83. Children 3 and under are free.
