Sign-up to Participate in the 20th Annual Texas Onion Fest

The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses, organizations, and the public to participate in the 20^th Annual Texas Onion Fest to be held Saturday, April 3 & 4, at Weslaco City Park. This celebration is an excellent opportunity to promote your business or organization to thousands of festival attendees. The number of participants grows every year, and there are several ways to get involved:

Sponsorships: Businesses can sponsor specific events at Texas Onion Fest. This is a unique advertising opportunity with quality and high visibility promotion in a pleasant atmosphere. Sponsorships vary in price and exclusivity. Inquire at the Weslaco Chamber for a sponsor packet.

Commercial Booths: Businesses are invited to purchase a booth for promoting and distributing information about their products or services. Participants must follow certain guidelines. Application required. Deadline: March 13^th.

Arts & Crafts Booths: Booths are available to sell items at the arts & crafts tent. Application required. Deadline: March 13^th.

South Texas Garden Spot: The Garden Spot will feature an array of produce and native plants. If you are interested in exhibiting or selling your items at the Garden Spot, reserve a space today. Application required. Deadline: March 13^th.

Onion Recipe Contest: Be amazed by what you can dish up with an onion. Enter your favorite onion dish into the Onion Recipe Contest scheduled for April 2 at Weslaco City Park. Divisions include youth, student, adult, and professional. Each recipe must contain a minimum of a cup of onions. Entries will be judged on appearance, texture, and flavor. Application required. Deadline: March 27^th.

Salsa Recipe Contest: Spicing up the festivities is the 2nd Annual Salsa Recipe Contest. All entries are required to include jalapenos, in honor of the Mild Jalapeno developed by Dr. Ben Villalon, aka Dr. Pepper, in Weslaco, TX. Come find out if your homemade salsa deserves some recognition! Entries will be judged on appearance, texture, and flavor. Application required. Deadline: March 27^th.
