STC hosts financial aid fair Feb. 16

South Texas College will host a Financial Aid Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its Mid-Valley Campus located at 400 North Border in Weslaco. The college offers numerous financial aid programs that make college affordable for those who qualify.

Financial aid staff will be available to explain federal and state programs, veteran's assistance, federal work study opportunities and a variety of other grants and financial aid programs. Staff will also provide assistance with filling out and filing forms.

Those attending the fair should bring a copy of their 2009 tax return, or if a dependent, a parent's 2009 tax return. A parent's signature is required for dependents. Also, it is recommended that those interested in applying for aid bring a copy of their social security card, a state issued ID, driver's license or resident alien card and proof of other income benefits.
