Little Wagon Parade
2010 Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show
- Any organized Youth group composed of members no older than 18 years of age is eligible to have an entry. For example: 4-H Clubs, FFA Chapters, Girl Scouts Troops, Boy Scouts Troops, School classes, Youth Church Group, Boys & Girls Club etc.
- Wagons must be standard four (4) wheel wagons limited to overall chassis size to 48 inches long and 28 inches wide including all decorations but not including the pull handle. (This is the standard red flyer wagon). Total height should not exceed 48 inches height from chassis.
- All decorations must be securely attached.
- There will be no set theme. Participants may choose whatever they wish.
- Wagons must be hand-pulled by a single person. Children may have one or two adults for assistance.
- No live animals will be permitted.
- Parade will begin at 10am on Saturday, March 20th, 2010. All entries must be at the Action Spot on the show grounds no later than 9:15am for judging. One or two adults can join the Parade for assistance. All other adults, parents, siblings, etc. are asked to follow behind or stand along the sides of the parade trail path.
- Entries will be judged on originality and attractiveness.
- After the parade, all entries should remain in place at the Action Spot on the show grounds until 4:00pm, Saturday, March 20th, 2010. Entries should be removed from the show grounds no later than 6:00pm that evening.
- Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place.
- Prize money will be paid as follows: 1st place - $200.00, 2nd place - $175.00, 3rd place - $150.00, 4th place - $125.00 and 5th place - $100.00.
- An entry fee of $5.00 will be charged and must accompany entry application. Deadline for entry extended to March 15th, 2010.
