First Baptist Church Weslaco presents Jesus, Messiah

Inspired by the biblical story of Jesus, members of First Baptist Church Weslaco will present Jesus, Messiah on March 28 and April 3. 

“Our church enjoys performing musicals during the holiday seasons,” shares Pastor of Worship Steve Chamblin. “Each year is different from the last with an original script and music pulled from different genres and time periods.”

Jesus Messiah tells of Jesus of Nazareth traveling the countryside offering redemption from sins. People say that He is the Messiah, the chosen one of God that will free His people. In the town of Bethany lives Lazarus, a man who had an encounter with Jesus that changed his life. He will tell about his miraculous experience with Jesus and how he has have never been the same since. 

All ages will be able to relate to this incredible story as told to a group of children by Lazarus himself. Performances will be held on Sunday, March 28, at 8:20 am and 11:00 am, and Saturday, April 3, at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. First Baptist Church Weslaco is located at 600 S. Kansas near downtown Weslaco.
