Classic and Muscle Car Show at STC

Weslaco – South Texas College and the RGV Pontiac Car Club will host their first Show and Shine Classic and Muscle Car Show at the Mid Valley Campus in Weslaco on Saturday July 17, 2010 from 9AM-1PM. The entrance fee is a military care package or a monetary donation to create care packages for our military men and women overseas.

This will be the first car show that STC Mid Valley has put on for the community. Bring your family and friends to see classic cars from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s as well as muscle cars from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. These individual car owners and clubs are from all over the Rio Grande Valley.

Operation Interdependence will be mailing the care packages to our military men and women overseas. The care packages can include toothpaste, energy bars, peanuts, gum, candy, prepaid phone card, deodorant, soap, eye drops, sun block, chap stick, socks and feminine hygiene products. Care packages are usually no bigger than a quart size zip lock bag. One of the most requested items is simply a letter of thanks or a picture colored by a child included in the zip lock bag.

There will be music, popcorn and drinks available. This car show is open to everyone in the community. Trophies will be awarded. If you have any questions or are interested in showing your classic or muscle car, please contact Danessa Liebhaber at South Texas College 447-1224.
