Auditions for the film “A Man Made Early,” will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, through Sunday, Aug. 29, at Weslaco East High School.
Scenarios USA, a nonprofit organization, uses screenwriting and filmmaking to promote leadership, advocacy and self-expression in teens and young adults. Angelica Hernandez of Weslaco East High School was chosen as the South Texas winner of the 2010 scriptwriting contest.
The film will be directed by Cruz Angeles (“Don’t Let Me Drown”), and shooting will begin next month in Weslaco.
Actors who are interested in auditioning for the film first must fill out a form online to audition for the film. Once you’ve filled out the form, you will be e-mailed on Friday, Aug. 27, with the time of your audition.
Also, students from sixth to 12th grade interested in working on the film set are invited to apply for an internship. You must fill out an application and fax or e-mail it by Friday, Sept. 10. A dozen students will be chosen for internships.
