STC students perform Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? In Weslaco March 29 & 30

South Texas College student group WILD (Writers in Literary Discussion) presents Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the college’s Mid-Valley Campus in Weslaco on Saturday, Mar. 29 and Sunday, Mar. 30, 2008. The play will be performed each evening at 8 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. The Mid-Valley Campus is located at the 400 North Border in Weslaco. Look for Building G.

”We are so excited to bring this award-winning play to our local community, not only because there are some stellar performances by our students and alumni, but also because it is directed by STC alum and University of Texas at Brownville English professor Christopher Carmona,” said Tom Fuschetto, STC instructor and club advisor.

“We have some of the most creative and imaginative students in this production and their enthusiasm for drama and putting on a top-notch production shines through. I think the community will really enjoy this performance and Carmona’s interpretation.”

Written by Edward Albee, the play won the 1963 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play. It is the story of the struggles of marriage and how two couples interact and confront each other in the boiling pot of the modern world.
