Strong Musical Talent Heading to Onion Fest

Treat yourself to a full-day of live musical entertainment at the Texas Rio Grande Valley Onion Fest on Saturday, April 5, from 10 to 9 pm at Weslaco City Park, 300 N. Airport Dr. Celebrate the 1015 Onion while taking in the sounds of country singers, norteno bands, and mariachi groups.

The AEP Latin Flair Stage kicks off with Weslaco High School Mariachi Pantera followed by the Salsa McAllen Dance Company offering free lessons on stage at 11:30 am. The afternoon brings Christian Singer Oscar J to the stage.

A sweet evening performance line-up will begin at 5 pm with Mazziso, a talented norteno group, followed by Siggno, playing romantic yet danceable norteno music. The band’s originality, energetic sound, and strong stage presence make them a great band for adults, teens, and even kids. The Tex Mex Kadillaks will close the evening, playing Tejano songs from their new album “Me Gustas Tu”, released on March 4.

Arrive early to the Magic Valley Electric Texas Spirit Stage for a lively performance by Rene Sings Elvis, followed by a number of bands including Cactus Willie & Box Car Bob, two different Christian rock bands Last Place and Evergreen, and the 1015 Band playing country classic.

The evening concludes with emerging country artist Star De Azlan, a veteran performer with a world-class voice. Star’s first single, “She’s Pretty”, is currently bringing her national attention.
