HISTORY

The Texas Onion Fest celebrates the development of the world famous Texas 1015 Onion which was developed in Weslaco, Texas, by Dr. Leonard Pike at the Texas A&M University Extension Service. The name of the 1015 onion came from the suggested planting date, October 15. Texas Onion Fest is sponsored by the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce.

GATE ADMISSION

Gates open at 6 pm.
Admission $5 Adults; $4 Seniors; and $2 Children. Gates open at 10 am.
Free parking both days!

ADVANCE TICKETS

Save $1 on Adult Admission for Saturday tickets only. Purchase advance tickets at the Weslaco Business Visitors Center located at 301 W. Railroad St. in Weslaco.

HANDICAP PARKING

The east side parking lot near Airport Drive is designated for vehicles with handicap permits.

INFORMATION BOOTH

Festival information and maps will be available at the Information Booth at Texas Onion Fest. The booth will be selling festival T-shirts and answering your questions.

T-SHIRTS

Purchase Onion Fest T-Shirts for $12 at the Weslaco Business Visitor Center or the Information Booth at Texas Onion Fest. Shirts are available in Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large. Size XXL priced at $15.

DIRECTIONS

Weslaco City Park is located at 300 N. Airport Drive in Weslaco.

From the West:
Travel west on Expressway 83 towards Weslaco, exit Texas Blvd and drive south; turn left at Pike Blvd, then right at Paso Del Norte.

From the East:
Travel east on Expressway 83 towards Weslaco, exit Airport Dr and drive south; turn right at Pike Blvd, then left at Paso Del Norte.

To Access Handicap Parking:
Travel on Expressway 83 towards Weslaco, exit Airport Dr, drive south, and turn right at the park entrance.

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED AT ONION FEST

No outside food or beverages, pets, or weapons.
