Weslaco Museum Executive Director

Job Description

The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Weslaco Museum and reports directly to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for fulfilling the Museum's mission and financial objectives by providing leadership and creative vision for the planning, growth, and administration of all Museum operations. The Executive Director serves as the Museum's primary liaison, promoting a positive image of the Museum in all interactions and activities; works closely with the Museum Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic goals and objectives; plans and manages the business and financial affairs of the Museum and coordinates the work of staff and committees. Reports to: The Weslaco Museum Board of Directors Directly employs, supervises, disciplines and discharges: All staff and volunteers QUALIFICATIONS -Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in the following or closely related fields: Finance, History, Business Administration, Education, Museum Studies, or Public Administration -Excellent computer skills -communication, public speaking, and writing skills -Strong understanding and achievement in museum and/or non-profit management -Solid business and financial management experience -Proven ability in fundraising, grant writing, and planned giving -Experience in developing research-based marketing programs -Ability to inspire, lead and manage staff, volunteers and directors -Ability to work closely and effectively with a Board of Directors -Expertise in crafting public/private partnerships -Ability to develop and implement long-range plans -At least two years experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified Interested applicants should submit their resumes in a sealed envelope to the Weslaco Museum.
