Spreading the Word about Nature in Weslaco

The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce and Weslaco’ three nature sites attended two well-known expos this fall to encourage nature enthusiasts to visit Weslaco. The Weslaco Chamber promoted Weslaco’s nature sites at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo in Austin, Texas, October 4 & 5. The Weslaco Chamber premiered a new rack card promoting Weslaco’s Dragonfly Days and Onion Festival in the spring, and distributed literature and dragonfly stickers for children. The Weslaco Chamber and Weslaco’s three nature sites partnered once again to promote the wealth of wildlife and nature habitats in Weslaco at the 15^th Annual Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival, held November 6-9, in Harlingen, TX. Birders from around the world flocked to the valley to see birds found no where else in the United States.
