Guitar Hero Tourney Returning to Onion Fest

Fans of the popular Guitar Hero World Tour game will surely need to make plans to be at Weslaco’s Texas Onion Fest on April 3 & 4. The festival which celebrates 1015 onions is coordinating a Guitar Hero World Tournament sponsored by BBVA Compass to entertain the new generation of video game enthusiasts.

On Friday, April 3, the festival will host a 2-hour Guitar Hero World Tour Tournament at Weslaco City Park during the “Pop Rock Onion” Concert hosted by Weslaco ISD from 6:00 to 9:00 pm that evening.  Each person who registers will get one free play, and the person with the highest score that night will receive a grand prize! Gaming starts at 6:00 pm.

Gamers will get a second chance to compete on Saturday, April 4. Onion Fest will host a full blown Guitar Hero World Tour Tournament beginning at 10:00 am. Players will register in one competing category of their choice: easy, medium, hard or expert. This time, you can play as many times as you want for $1 a song.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the person in each category with the highest score. The tournament will end at 8:00 pm. All winners must be present to win.
