Weslaco Chamber hosting "Travel Matters" Photo Contest

In celebration of Texas Travel & Tourism Week, May 9-17, the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce will host a photo contest to promote the economic impact of the tourism industry in the State of Texas.

Official Rules

Eligibility: The Photo Contest is open to all Mid Valley residents, which includes Weslaco, Donna, Progreso, Progreso Lakes, La Villa, Edcouch, Elsa and Mercedes.

Entry Period: The Contest will begin on Monday, May 11, 2009, at 12:00 am and
end on Friday, May 22, 2009, at 11:59 pm.

How to Enter: Submit your digital photos by email to chamber@weslaco.com. All entries must be sent via email. Please include your name, home address, phone number, place of work, and a brief description of the photo. Photos must represent a travel site in the Rio Grande Valley or in the State of Texas.

Each entry must be an original photograph taken by the contestant at the highest resolution

possible and in jpeg format. If a photo includes people other than the contestant, the contestant

must get consent from those individuals. Written consent will be required if your photo is

selected.

By submitting the photo, the contestants acknowledge and agree that the Weslaco Chamber

has the right to edit, adapt, modify, reproduce, publish, promote, broadcast, or otherwise display

or use photos in any way and any medium without compensation to contestants.

The Weslaco Chamber will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected, or illegible entries, or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures. The Weslaco Chamber reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is alleged to infringe on any third-party's intellectual property rights, or deems obscene, offensive or otherwise inappropriate for viewing by a general audience.

Winner Selection: The Weslaco Chamber will select a 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd Place winner based on the following criteria: appropriateness to the theme (50%), composition (25%), and originality (25%). The winners will be selected on May 26, 2009. All photo entries will be posted on the Chamber’s website, www.weslaco.com.

Winner Notification: Winners will be notified on May 26, 2009, by telephone and/or email.
