Weslaco Homes Light up the Holidays

WESLACO - The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce selected the brightest and most original lighted homes in the “2009 Home Lighting Contest”. A number of beautifully decorated homes were nominated for the contest this year.

The Weslaco Chamber judged homes from four quadrants of the City and selected the winners for each section. This year’s Northwest award goes to 113 N. Pino, and the Northeast award goes to 717 N. Padre Ave. The Southwest selection was 1008 W. 7th St. and the Southeast was 1105 Jasmine. First place winners were awarded a $100 cash prize, and all 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd place winners received an outdoor sign to display in front of their home.      

“It is always great to see the community get into the spirit of the season while spreading cheer with their outdoor decorations,” commented Martha Noell, President/CEO of the Weslaco Area Chamber of  Commerce.
