Membership Drive to be held Sept. 15 - 24 at the Weslaco Business Visitor Center

A Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Drive will kick-off on Monday, September 15 at the Weslaco Business Visitor Center, 301 W. Railroad St. The event is an effort to increase membership and awareness of the many benefits available at the Weslaco Chamber.

The event is made possible by the Chamber’s volunteer committees. This year’s team captain’s are Norma Montalvo, Leadership Mid Valley Committee; Margo Sunderland, Advertising Committee; Jeff Walker, Red Coat Ambassadors; Chris Warren, Weslaco Beautiful; Carla McCaleb, Member Services Committee; and Julie Majors, Festival Committees.

Each team is responsible to recruit local businesses to become members of the Weslaco Chamber. The overall goal is to raise $15,000 by the end of the week.

This year, the Chamber is rolling out new marketing opportunities for the entire membership. New members who join during the Membership Drive will have the opportunity to win various marketing packages from the Weslaco Chamber including: free email announcements to the entire Chamber member list, enhanced business listings and banner ads on the Chamber’s website, Business After-Hours-Mixer Sponsorship, Coffee Bar Sponsorship, and more.

Any business who offers its goods or services in Weslaco can join the Weslaco Chamber and receive member benefits; chamber members do not necessarily have to be located in Weslaco. When you join the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce, you are introduced to the local business community and have the opportunity to attend monthly mixers, luncheons, and seminars to network and acquire vital business skills. All members can take part in the business referrals provided by the Chamber and be listed on the Chamber’s website, www.weslaco.com. The Chamber also assists in communicating information to its members through chamber news updates via the Internet and the monthly Chamber Page published in the Mid Valley Town Crier.
