ANDALUSIAN & AZTECA DANCING HORSES

Performing at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm
Don't miss the unforgettable performance by The Andalusian and Azteca Dancing Horses returning for their ninth year to the Texas Onion Fest. Their performance features 8 - 10 riders (youth & adults) who ride the horses with precision and grace as they dance to traditional Mexican music. The riders will be adorned with traditional custom-made suede, wool Charro attire and rabbit skin sombreros. Both performances are FREE once you enter the gates.

ONION EATING CONTESTS

Kicks Off at 12:00 pm! The celebration continues with the annual onion eating contests sponsored by Weslaco Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. A mouthful of sweet onions can be a rewarding experience at this event. All ages are encouraged to participate. The competing categories include youth, adult, senior, and celebrity. Winners will receive great prizes provided by area sponsors.

The public is welcome to attend and cheer on the participants. Our reigning Onion Fest Queens will be assisting the contestants. If you are brave enough to take on the challenge, sign-up today at the Weslaco Chamber or at the Onion Fest Rest Area.

KID ZONE

Kids will have a blast and burn off their energy at the Kid Zone, an area designed just for kids. Enjoy rides including a rock climbing wall, inflatable slides, and mini-ferris wheel.

CAR SHOW

Time is drawing near for the Texas Onion Fest to host the "Custom Classic Truck & Car Show". A line-up of custom SUVs and trucks, and classic cars and trucks will be on display for all to see.

If you have pride in your ride, come show it off! Any style is welcome. Entry fee is $20 per vehicle.
