Knapp Medical Center is a not-for-profit community health care provider, placing its patients first. Combining compassion and competence, Knapp Medical Center provides health care to the people and communities of the Rio Grande Valley. As a major community-focused employer, Knapp Medical Center works to contribute to regional vitality and economic well-being. Through its collaborative education programs, Knapp Medical Center works to help build a healthy community.
Facilities
Knapp Medical Center is licensed for 233 beds, which are all private. Approximately 130 doctors serve on the KMC Medical Staff. All are independent professional practitioners. KMC also employs 1,000 people. Another 250 adult volunteers and 50 junior volunteers serve their community and the patients at KMC.
Service Area
Knapp Medical Center’s service area is Hidalgo County and the western edge of Cameron County. Knapp Medical Center’s Primary Service Area includes Donna east to La Feria and Monte Alto south to the Rio Grande River or what is referred to as the Mid-Valley.
